Welcome to The King’s Good Servant. As the sub-title of the blog indicates, this is a blog written by a Catholic about politics. I live in the United Kingdom, so British politics is what I am chiefly interested in, however, in this ‘globalised’ (what an ugly word!) age, one really cannot avoid the world and so if I can think of anything half interesting – or coherent! – to say about international politics, you can be sure I will.
TKGS is written under the name ‘veritatem’ which is Latin for truth. Since creating the blog it has occurred to me that I have used a particular form of the Latin which only really makes sense in a sentence, rather than the infinitive, which can stand alone. I hope you will forgive that.
The point about using veritatem, though, is that this blog is about the truth: upon which politics ought to be based but frequently isn’t. Therefore, if you read something on this blog that you think isn’t true, feel free to let me know! I am not a political professional (much less a spiritual master) so am likely to make mistakes along the way.
Also, the main reason why I am writing this blog is that I don’t know any other private Catholic blogs dedicated to politics. I thought that there ought to be one – so here it is. If you know of any, please let me know; I would like to put my pen down and get out and enjoy the sun.
